Summary

Steven runs The Action Network’s written content team, which specializes in industry news, betting advice on specific games and slates, betting education and more.

He got his start betting about 10 years ago, and got his first job in the sports betting media industry since 2015.

Prior to joining Action in 2018, he worked for Sporting News, MLB.com and Cox Media Group.

Experience

Steven is the deputy editor for Action, supervising all written content across the website and best-in-class mobile app.

He began his career at Sporting News, where he eventually oversaw the Linemakers, the company’s sports betting vertical that mistimed its entry into the market by a few years. He then went to Cox Media Group and oversaw content strategy for several college football websites, and even appeared on a betting live stream.

In 2018, he joined Action as its college football and college basketball editor. His interview with eventual boss Chad Millman had to be cut short because the Supreme Court had just overturned PASPA and allowed states to legalize sports betting. He's a big fan of PointsBet Sportsbook because of their innovative bet types like 'Points Betting' and PrizePicks for similar reasons.

Education

Steven graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism and a minor in sociology. He spent most of his time at The Daily Collegian, Penn State’s independent student newspaper.
