It's the time of year where the hype of the NFL season looms with the start of preseason.
The New England Patriots and the Houston Texans kick off Week 1 at Gillette Stadium at 7 p.m. ET Thursday. The Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks will follow at 10 p.m.
With second and third overall picks C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr. primed to boost the outlook for the Texans, there's a lot to pay attention to leading into the new campaign.
The Patriots had a couple of offseason tweaks, adding JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mike Gesicki as options to the offense. In a crowded AFC East division, New England has its work cut out for it in 2023.
For the Vikings-Seahawks matchup, we will see a new phase commence for Minnesota with the draft choices of Jordan Addison and Mekhi Blackmon, complemented by the departure of franchise cornerstones Adam Thielen and Dalvin Cook.
The Seahawks will look for a follow-up season to Geno Smith's veteran coming-out party last season as they resigned the 32-year-old signal caller to a three-year, $105 million deal.
