Moneylines sound like a fancy betting term, but it's really just a bet on which team will win or lose. As opposed to the spread bet, the margin of victory is completely irrelevant. If you bet on the Jazz to win the game, you would win the bet if they were victorious, be it by four points or 40 points.
The odds can be a little tricky to read a first, though. Here's an example of a game against the Blazers:

Think of moneyline odds in the American format in increments of $10 or $100, and it's a little easier. If you wanted to bet on the Jazz at -155 odds, you would have to bet $155 to win $100. The underdog Blazers would have inverse payouts, which means a $100 bet would net $180.

The Jazz had some loft expectations coming into the season after their finish atop the Western Conference in 2020-21, so it’s not too surprising to see their against-the-spread record take a dip. That refers to spread bets, which are common wagers based all on the margin of victory in a game.
