Oklahoma City Thunder 2021-22 Season
Oklahoma City’s fall from grace was cemented last season with their second-to-last place finish in the west. But GM Sam Presti’s vision has been clear for a while now as he’s picked up dozens of draft picks over the last few seasons.
They have some solid young pieces in the fold as well, like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey, so we’ll have to see Presti’s plan as the gears start moving and things get set in motion.

Betting on the Oklahoma City Thunder
The Thunder are a team without much optimism for the 2021-22 season, but bettors can still find some wins in Oklahoma City utilizing the following bet types.

Thunder Moneylines
In the case of a young team like the Thunder, they can be wildly unpredictable, looking competitive one night and getting blown out the next. If you'd rather take a risk on them winning vs. covering the spread, you're looking for what's called a moneyline bet. In these, the margin of victory doesn't matter.

Again, a plus sign designates the Thunder as the underdog. The numbers here, though, reflect the payout structure. A bet on the Thunder moneyline at +280 odds means that if they win, you'd profit $28 for every $10 wagered. The Jazz moneyline of -350 means those bettors would win $10 for every $35 bet.
Thunder Spread
With low expectations for the team coming in every game, the Thunder have capitalized against-the-spread -- they’re the second best team in the league at the All-Star break at 35-19-4.
If you're new to betting, this refers to spread bets, which are wagers on the margin of victory or loss in a game. Here's an example of a Thunder match:

The Thunder in this example are the underdogs, which you can tell by the plus sign next to their name. As 10.5-point favorites, a bet on the Thunder spread would cash if they either won the game outright or lost by 10 or fewer points. If the Nuggets won the game by 11 or more, though, the bet would lose.
Thunder Over/Unders
Over/under bets were profitable for the Thunder last season, but they’ve fallen off the path a bit for – overs bettors that is. At 25-33, OKC is the seventh worst team in the league when betting the over.
Total bets are simply bets on how many points will get scored in a game. Say the Thunder played the Blazers and the total was at 225 points. An over bet on that number would cash if the teams went over 225 points -- 226 or more. An under bet would cash at 224 or fewer. If the game landed at 225 exactly, all bets would push and no wagers would lose.
Thunder Prop Bets
Let's say you don't trust the Thunder as a team but are a big fan of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. You can actually bet just on his performance, and that's called a player prop bet. For example, you can bet on a bunch of his stats, such as whether he'll go over/under a certain number of points, whether he'll record a double-double, and more.

Expectations are low at the moment for Oklahoma City, but GM Sam Presti can make a move for a star at any moment with all his draft capital, which means bettors will have to shop for the best line to get good odds on Thunder futures bets.
