Baltimore Ravens Odds, Bet Types, and Team History
Outside of Aaron Rodgers, no quarterback dominated the NFL offseason more than Lamar Jackson. For a minute there it seemed like Jackson and the Ravens were headed for a divorce, but the two sides ended up coming to terms on a five-year, $260 million pact.
That’s the good news. The bad is that Jackson played in only 12 games for the second consecutive season due to a PCL injury. Baltimore still managed to make the AFC Wild Card Round (sans Jackson), but fell to the rival Bengals in a tightly contested game.
Notably, Baltimore will actually have pass-catchers beyond Mark Andrews this season. Odell Beckham Jr. and Nelson Agholor were among the team’s big free-agent acquisitions. It also drafted Boston College speedster Zay Flowers in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
On defense, cornerback Marcus Peters departed via free agency. He was replaced by the tandem of Rock Ya-Sin and Trayvon Mullen.
The Ravens open their season on Sept. 10 at home against the Texans. They have made the playoffs in four of the last five seasons, but have gone no further than the Divisional Round.
Betting on the Baltimore Ravens
Ravens Spread
Betting point spreads are wagers based on the expectation that a team will win or lose by a certain number of points. Here's an example of how the spread works using a Ravens game against the Kansas City Chiefs as an example.
- Ravens +3.5 (-110)
- Chiefs -3.5 (-112)
In this situation, the Ravens are 3.5 point underdogs against the Chiefs. If Kansas City wins the game by four or more points, a $112 wager on the Chiefs would come with a payout of $100. If Baltimore won the game outright or lost by three points or fewer, a $110 wager would net $100.
Ravens Moneyline
Betting on a team's moneyline is rather straightforward. Here's an example of a Ravens moneyline bet.
- Ravens +162
- Chiefs -192
The minus (-) and plus (+) signs distinguish the favorite from the underdog, making Chiefs the favorite in this scenario. Odds can be understood more clearly if you think in terms of $100 increments. A wager on the Chiefs odds would mean every $192 bet nets $100. And it's the opposite for underdogs: Here the Ravens moneyline was set at +162, meaning a $100 wager would profit $162.
Moneylines are also commonly used when making parlays, which are multiple bets tied into one. Let’s say you bet the Ravens moneyline and a -2.5 point spread. Baltimore would need to win by three points or more for that bet to be successful. The risk is greater, but so is the reward with increased odds. Use our Odds Calculator to calculate any bet amount or conversion.
Ravens Over/Under
Over/under, also called point total, is a wager placed on the combined scoring of a single game. Bookmakers come up with a number and you can either bet the over or — you guessed it — the under. Here’s how it works:
Let's say the Ravens play the Chiefs and the over/under is set at 54 points. A wager on the over would require Baltimore and Kansas City to score 55 total points or more to win. Betting the under is an expectation that the two teams would score 53 points or fewer. It's also possible for the bet to push, which would happen if the game finished with exactly 54 points scored.
Ravens Prop Bets
Player props are wagers on a single player, and they're tied to a single stat found in the box score for a game or even the whole season. These are among the most fun to bet on, especially if you're already playing fantasy football and like the player-specific focus it offers. Check out a hypothetical example below:
- Over/Under: Lamar Jackson passing yards: 3,550.5
In this example, a bettor will wager on whether or not Jackson will throw for more or less than 3,550.5 yards over the course of the season.
Ravens Future Odds
A futures bet is a wager that will decided based on a result that takes place later in the season. Future bets can be made on both team and individual player outcomes. Some examples of popular futures bets include:
- Baltimore Ravens odds to win the AFC North
- Baltimore Ravens odds to win the AFC
- Baltimore Ravens odds to win the Super Bowl
Because NFL futures are so hard to predict, bettors can expect highly favorable odds with sizeable payouts should they win.
